Transportation Services
Chateau Lake San Marcos offers numerous transportation options for grocery shopping, medical appointments, and local errands. The Chateau owns a 23-seat passenger bus and a van which is used for general activities and may also be reserved for private transportation, subject to the availability of a driver and vehicle.
Transportation Fees:
All weekly loops and local trips are free for residents. Offsite excursions that are more than 15 miles away, 30 miles round trip, are subject to a nominal fee for residents and their guests. Click here for the transportation zone map.
Weekly on Tuesdays, the bus departs for the local grocery store and the best part of doing your shopping with us is we deliver the groceries to your front door.
Medical Appointment Loop:
The medical loop is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We can accommodate rides up to 10 miles away which covers Escondido, San Marcos, La Costa, Vista, Encinitas, Carlsbad and Oceanside.
Monthly Trips:
Once a month we offer our residents a trip to one of the local malls, Trader Joes & Sprouts and the beach for a walk. We also frequent museums, theatres, parks and various places of interest in the surrounding areas.
Private Transportation:
For an additional cost, requests for private transportation, including service to and from San Diego Airport and Cruise Ship Terminal, can be made. This accommodation is dependent on driver availability. Please click here see the current ancillary fees schedule.
