The well maintained and manicured grounds include waterfalls, fountains, gazebos, and reflecting ponds.
The center of activity is the community center. A 20,000 square foot building that houses an elegant dining room with dramatic views of the pond and surrounding hills, a quiet library, game room, billiards table, computer room, fitness center with on staff fitness instructor, as well as the administrative offices. A solar heated sparkling lap pool and spa sit adjacent to the community center for residents to relax and enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather.

Residents of Chateau Lake San Marcos not only get to enjoy the incredible landscape and beautiful views each day, but are also showered with a long list of gracious services and amenities that are all included in the monthly homeowner’s fee.
Full service gourmet dining is one of best features of the Chateau. One meal per day is included in the monthly fee. Residents can choose from breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Residents can eat as often as they wish for a nominal fee. Because the Chateau is a non-profit organization, fees charged cover only actual costs, saving residents a great deal of money each year. Every week residents look forward to the lavish Sunday Champagne Brunch. It includes succulent Prime Rib, made to order omelets, and a delicious selection of pastries.
In addition to outstanding dining service, residents enjoy bi-weekly housekeeping and linen service performed by courteous and professional staff members. Trained and experienced maintenance personnel that keep the buildings in first-class condition and are available to individual residents for a wide variety of services at little, and sometimes no cost.
Chateau Lake San Marcos owns a 23 seat passenger bus and a chauffeured car that provides numerous free scheduled transportation opportunities for residents to choose from. Safe and courteous drivers will take you grocery shopping or to your medical appointments at no charge. They’ll even box up and deliver the groceries to the condo after you’re done shopping. And if you don’t feel like going shopping yourself, they’ll even do that for you too. Residents just call in their shopping list to the Resident Services Director and, for a small fee, someone does your shopping and delivers it right to your condo.
Chateau Lake San Marcos offers a wide variety of daily fitness classes and social activities as well. There is rarely a day on the calendar when there is nothing to do. From theater events to luncheon trips at the beach, there is something for everyone. Members engage in weekly walking events to such places as the Carlsbad Beach Seawall, San Diego’s Seaport Village, and Discovery Lake to name a few.
Chateau Lake San Marcos hosts many special events to celebrate holidays. Many feature live

entertainment, dancing and a sumptuous buffet of hors d’ oeuvres’ followed by a fabulous gourmet dinner. Other events include an “Around the World” dinner where a five course meal of foods from various regions is served, and a summer Luau featuring spit fired pork and dazzling Polynesian dance entertainment.
