Samantha Russell, Director of Resident Services and Fitness

As Resident Services Director, I supervise the execution of key Chateau amenities from Transportation to Concierge support.   We boast a team of skilled drivers who provide warm, courteous transportation experiences to our residents, some of whom may be without a vehicle for the first time in their adult lives. Our Concierge department delivers knowledgeable, friendly assistance with meal reservations, event and transportation sign-ups, as well as general community information. Resident Services works closely with every department to create a comprehensive, luxurious retirement experience.

As an ACE certified group fitness instructor, specializing in senior fitness, I also conduct all of the fitness classes and activities including aquafit, total fitness and balance classes each week.

In addition to overseeing these vital components of the Chateau lifestyle, I also have the pleasure of conducting new resident orientations and community tours for prospective residents.  I look forward to meeting you!

Stephen B Window - Executive Chef and Culinary Director

As Executive Chef and Culinary Director at Chateau Lake San Marcos I attended Culinary School near my hometown of Manchester England and embarked on a career that would take me to acclaimed restaurants around the world. My extensive travels give me an impressive expertise in many diverse cuisines -from the cooking of exotic Pacific Islands to the classic recipes of Escoffier -all of which are embodied in my Kitchen at Chateau Lake San Marcos . My restaurant experience in La Jolla at Roppongi Restaurant where I opened the venue and also received top honors multiple times for my fortitude in the Kitchen . I also was also featured twice as Featured Chef at the James Beard House -an honor all chefs dream about -not once but twice. And now I have been welcomed with open arms by the residents at Chateau and I feel honored to be part of the community. ‘Most of the residents like me, have travelled all over the world. They expect good quality food. It is very rewarding to be the Executive Chef at the Chateau. We are adapting the menus and changing things up. I have had so much positive

My goal is to keep the standard of the food higher than the residents’ expectations.
To continue to change Menus seasonally, offering a diverse selection of cuisines, introduce in house dressings. Implementing Cooking Classes quarterly for Residents, work with new and current vendors to maximize opportunity buys, all whilst working within the Chateau Budget Guidelines.

Stay current in equipment opportunities that will also offer better selection and quality of product to our Residents.
